I’d like to know what makes a true woman. So I’m here watching Ms. Universe Latina or something like that and there’s a bunch of pretty women of course, bringing down my self-esteem and such, and then one lady says being a true woman isn’t only having the looks, its about walking the walk and talking the talk. But dammit, I have neither, I slouch (and often trip over my own feet) plus I can’t carry a conversation without stumbling upon my words. And it makes me think, is this really the rubric for being a true woman? In today’s world, society relies on woman to have that nice fat booty, voluptuous bosoms, a Jessica Rabbit waist, flawless skin, and eyebrows that are on “fleek”. This is what a lot of women and girls aspire to be these days, and it’s kind of sad because they forget that aside from having the curves and sexy looks, that being a woman is having strength no matter what struggles go your way. It is recognizing the responsibility that is your life and taking control of it without any fears. It is realizing that you were put on this planet for something great and something that you love and just doing it to your best ability- whether if its making it rain on the stripper poles and still raising you're kids to the to your greatest potential or being the best lawyer that you have strived to become, you are a woman because you face the world with your mightiness. So yah,if you're working the poles, make sure you make that booty clap and gain that bank because the woman in you makes sure she gets what she needs. If you’re a lawyer, make sure you win that case or at least just make anyone regret trying to ever mess with you. If you are just any girl in the world, make ‘em remember who you are and be the best you that you can be and in a humble way, don’t be to cocky. Don’t ever try to become something you aren’t, especially when it’s for someone else, because after watching all those Disney Channel movies, I learned that it isn’t worth it at all. If you find that it’s necessary to change your appearance or just anything about yourself, make sure that you’re doing it for you , whatever makes you happy. So i guess that being a woman is just being happy with yourself and your life and having strength to move forward, ya’know besides having a vagina.

"...being a woman is having strength no matter what struggles go your way. It is recognizing the responsibility that is your life and taking control of it without any fears. It is realizing that you were put on this planet for something great and something that you love and just doing it to your best ability- ..." From your explanation, I pulled a section of your paragraph in which you defined what a woman is, to you. I don't 100 % agree with you and here's why. You said that being a woman is having strength despite the odds but I feel as if woman have to gain strength and learn how to be strong. It's not something we're born with. Strength comes from experience and conflicts and challenges you face in your life. It is also something that grows after the moment you are at your weakest. I agree that not only women but anyone else should figure out their purpose and control of their lives but without fears? I don't think that's possible. Know what I'm saying? I believe we're all afraid. There is no one out there who isn't scared of something, whether it be a heights or failing at what you do. The last sentence of your definition is definitely something I agree with to the full extent. As I said before, we all have a purpose in this world and we have to recognize that. As a general point, I think we should steer away from trying to be true women or men or anything else and just focus on being good people. But if one had to define a woman, which is an incredibly difficult task, I guess they would have to find a description that means something to them, because people will have their own take on this question.

I agree with you, the way that society treats women these days is despicable. I mean you see adds and magazines on a daily basis with "hot" women, and naturally we women compare outsells to that ,its sad because we are all beautiful in some shape or form we just never realize it because of all the adds these day. With the 22inch waist lines and thigh gaps being such a pressured subject and losing weight ,wearing the right make up. Magazines and photo shopping movies stars is ridiculous, some of there PhotoShop work on womens body was impossible to accomplish in real life. Sometimes society such as magazines stating makeup or weightless adds don't realize how much of a harm they do when the advertise these things. I agree with you I think everyone should except everyone for who they are and their true selves.
