The Greater Surfacing of Islamophobia

    Muslim places of worship in two French towns were fired upon January 7. Three blank grenades were thrown at a mosque shortly after midnight, in west Paris.. In southern France, several shots were fired in the direction of a Muslim prayer hall shortly after evening prayers. There was an explosion at a kebab shop near a mosque in the eastern French town of Villefranche-sur-Saone on Thursday morning. These all explain that Muslim people are blamed as a whole people as a result of what a few extremists did. This all gets tied back to September 11, 2011 as if there's always a connection between two unrelated events. Everyone is reporting on how Muslims are harrassing Jews as they fight over the Gaza strip, how they're firing bombs over that border that separates them. No one reports on the other stories of how The israeli army is aiming missiles towards schools and places of worship.The link below goes into greater detail how a hatred of a religion causes people to go as far as to try to "eradicate that religion. 
    Just today my grandmother even had to audacity to agree with a statement that went along the lines of, "Muslims are the leading cause of war,blah blah blah, why must they fire upon these innocent people, they deserve to be stopped." I almost lectured her on this subject because, a) she doesn't even feel like she needs more information on this subject and b) There's another side to this argument, but, i was going to be late to school if i stayed at the table longer. Some people are so narrow minded to even say that the world will be a better place without all these dirty muslims. I feel so terrified that there in a majority agreeing but they do not even think of what contributions a whole people have made to Earth with their many common advancements such as "most inventions for use" and that hatred could be easily targeted towards another religion just as easily if you just change around a few words such as "muslims".

In my opinion, islamophobia is not a thing. It does not exist. What does exist is America's blind, very ignorant view of the islamic stance on terrorism in the world. While it is true that there are muslims in the world who, like in every religion or major group in the world, are silent about terrorism (by not speaking out only brings more suffering), that is only about 3 percent of the Muslim population. 3 percent. That is not even a handle of the Muslim people who walk around this earth peacefully. How dare we generalize an entire race of people? We speak about the Islam nation, forgetting that we're putting Muslim Americans, Indians, Turks, and Africans in the same category as a few groups in Pakistan and Afganistan. We put these groups in the same category as peaceful Pakistanis and Afganis! It's evil and we need to respect that the religion has nothing to do with terrorism.

This is just another argument about God as well. Do people really truly believe that God would support and dictate the killigs and torturings of His people? We see these things happen in the world and we blame God, instead of blaming evil and its grip on people, bad people. When the media and America defame God, it is not a "good argument" or "a progressive idea", it is disrespectful to the 97% of people who worship that God. God is love and beauty, not terror and genocide and warfare. We have to stop labeling, it is ignorant.
