Fashion, who are you?

    Fashion. What the heck is it? In today’s world its anything and everything, which is really hard for me to grasp since I’m aiming for the fashion career, it makes things more difficult. For example, if you steal a hobo’s ripped up shirt, (even though thats extremely rude), you are the next top hipster. Take your dad’s old tie and wrap it around your head, dang! You are the epitome of style. Its really difficult to say what is and what isn't fashion because it all depends on people’s perspectives. Some people like certain styles and others will wear anything (literally anything, even their grandad’s clothes, and no, not a reference to Maclemore, agh, maybe it is). There is no problem with wearing your grandad’s clothes, it's an honor to him, you’re recycling, and VINTAGE BABY! Who doesn’t love it? But some people take fashion to a whole new level where it’s like “who are you? what are you wearing? Your neon crop top, plaid skirt and skimpy fishnet stockings are blinding my eyes!”But then again, you are you, and you can wear whatever you want, just remember, don't. be. kinky. It makes you wonder, it makes me wonder, what is fashion anymore? Personally, I’m into many different styles, I may not show it but if I had the money and the energy to actually put effort into my clothing, I swear I’d be a mini Lady Gaga without the meat, wigs and sexy backup dancers, I like to keep it a little more simple. I don't know, does it seem like I’m contradicting myself? I mean I believe that fashion is the way you express yourself but I also believe in good fashion and bad fashion that shouldn't even be considered fashion, just a collage of mush. I’m getting a brain tumor just thinking about it. I guess it just depends on the person and what they consider fashion is. Anywho, this is something I’ve been debating with myself for a while now. I hope some of you read this. I hope some of you post comments. Agree with me! Disagree with me! Tell me what in the world is wrong with me!

In today's modern society its all about the labels, Fashion should be something used to express oneself but its not.If someone isn't with the trend or wearing something similar to the trend but a differently label they are consider bootleg and the clothing item is considered a knock-off.Today most of the teens shop at the same stores and buy the same items, when they get to school they act like their twining and they proceed to make fun of people who wear brands they have never heard of. For example, when my friends and I were sitting at our lunch table , this girl walked by with heels with a red bottom. The corner of the bottom had a black spot, and one of my friends made a joke that they were fake.Then everyone started to laugh. People today use fashion to express their social class and how much money is in their bank account. People use fashion to fit in with peer groups. For example, a group of dance major boys always wear retro jordan's, and if you wear them to they will recognize you and accept you.In the near future we will all be wearing the same thing and it sad that something once used to express yourself is what is know used to define you and tell a single-story about you.
